1. Can the software perform disk imaging and data file backups?

Yes, NovaBackup Professional Software can perform both disk imaging and data file backups.  This ensures that your operating system (OS) files and program files a re protected by the disk imaging.  In addition, your regular data files like photos, word documents, spreadsheets, reports, music, videos, etc. are protected with the data file backups.

2. Flexibility in backup options (hard drives, flash drives, online server, etc.)?

Yes, NovaBackup Profesional Software allows you the ability to backup to a wide variety of sources including CDs, DVDs, online servers, tape drives, disk drives, and more.  This versatility can provide you with extra layers of protection to your computer files.

3. Access to past file editions in past backups?

Yes, you have access to past file editions.  This can help aid you to find previous editions that may have information you later find that you need.

4. Ability to synchronize files between multiple computers?

It is unclear but it does not appear you have the ability to synchronize files between multiple computers.

5. Additional unique features to help with the backup process?

Online storage is not an upgrade but is made available with the regular service.  This is a benefit over other companies that either do not have this service or it is an upgrade that requires additional money.

 

Personal Review

The Novabackup software is a simple, no frills backup software product.  It is easy to follow and use as it is intuitive.  This makes it easy to perform its main task of completing backups.  I found that the backups run a little slower than what Acronis can do as it took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete a full backup on a computer that had less files than what I had on the computer that did the Acronis full backup run.  However, I did like the basic look that this software offers as it is not overwhelming with too many options.

On the other hand, I would have preferred to have at least a few more options.  The no frills approach may provide a solid product as it focuses on the main purpose of the software, but it does look like it is limited compared to other options like Acronis.  Since Acronis was faster in performing the backup and has a larger amount of options, I would opt for Acronis before choosing this software.  However, for those who may have trouble with Acronis on their computer, this software provides a very capable backup option.  Many other customer seem to really like this product so I have no problem also recommending it eventhough it is a relatively new company.
